Community Grants and Initiatives

Meath County Council provides a range of Grants to community groups to assist with actions and projects being undertaken in their local area. These grants are intended to sustain community activity, active citizenship and promote community enhancement and environmental intiatives.

Dormant Accounts Fund 2024 to support LGBTI+ Community Organisations

Call for Applications – 2024 Dormant Account Funds – National LGBTI+ Inclusion Strategy

The 2024 Dormant Accounts Fund Action Plan includes provision of €150,000 to support LGBTI+ Community Organisations nationally.

Funding will be available to organisations locally for the provision of services that will include:

  • Extending drop-in hours, developing information and guidance tools, holding additional community events 
  • Delivering LGBTI awareness/sensitivity training in healthcare settings, businesses, schools etc. 
  • Providing outreach support
  • Providing sporting/physical activity programmes to promote inclusion, community participation, health and wellbeing

Interested organisations should email a funding proposal to community@meathcoco.ie that outlines the following no later than 30th September, 2024:

1.       Structure of Community Organisation

2.       Breakdown of Budget as per funding sought. 

3.       Current staffing arrangements

4.       Number of people in catchment area who may avail of LGBTI+ supports

5.       Current sources of other funding

6.       Governance arrangements
