Dáil Constituencies

Dáil Constituencies are used for General elections where representatives are elected to the Dáil or national government. The constituency you are registered in will affect where you vote and who you may vote for.

There are currently four Dáil Constituencies in County Meath:

  • Meath West
  • Louth
  • Cavan Monaghan

Following the recent enactment of the Electoral (Amendment) Bill 2023, County Meath will have three Dail Constituencies:

which will come into effect after the dissolution of the current Dáil, meaning the next general election will be organised with the new constituencies.
