Climate Action Charter commits Meath County Council to embedding decarbonisation, sustainable development and climate resilience into every aspect of the Council’s services and operations. 

Meath County Council Climate Action Plan 2024 – 2029

Meath County Council’s Climate Action Plan 2024 – 2029 was adopted on the 29th January 2024.  Meath County Council has prepared this Plan, to create a low carbon and climate resilient County, by delivering and promoting best practice in climate action, at the local level.  This Plan is aligned to the Government’s overall National Climate Objective, which seeks to pursue and achieve, by no later than the end of 2050, the transition to a climate resilient, biodiversity rich, environmentally sustainable and climate neutral economy.

Plan Gníomhaíochta um Aeráide Chomhairle Chontae na Mí 2024 – 2029

Ag obair le chéile chun geilleagar a chruthú atá aeráid-díonach, atá saibhir ó thaobh na bithéagsúlachta, atá inbhuanaithe ó thaobh na timpeallachta agus atá aeráid-neodrach a thacaíonn le stíleanna maireachtála sláintiúla agus fás post. 

Rinneadh Plean Gníomhaíochta Aeráide Chomhairle Chontae na Mí a oirúnú ar an 29 Eanáir 2024. D'ullmhaigh Comhairle Chontae na Mí an Plean seo, chun Contae ina bhfuil carbón íseal agus atá aeráid-díonach a chruthú, tríd an dea-chleachtas a sholáthar agus a chur chun cinn le gníomhú ar son na haeráide, ag an leibhéal áitiúil. Tá an Plean seo ag teacht le Cuspóir Náisiúnta Aeráide iomlán an Rialtais, ina ndéantar iarracht tabhairt faoin aistriú go dtí geilleagar atá aeráid-díonach, saibhir ó thaobh na bithéagsúlachta, inbhuanaithe ó thaobh na timpeallachta agus aeráid-neodrach, faoi thráth nach déanaí ná deireadh 2050, agus é a bhaint amach.

Resources

Meath County Council has published a Baseline Emissions Inventory Report, which gives a picture of the current emissions in the County and examines how the climate in the County has changed in recent decades. A Risk Assessment report has also been published, which shows the risks the impacts of future climate change may cause for the city. Strategic Environment Assessment and Natura Impact Assessment which assesses the effects of certain plans and programmes on the Environment and any European designated site.
