Under the Long Term Leasing Scheme properties are leased from private landlords and used to accommodate households from the housing waiting list.

Who can Apply?

You must be a qualified housing applicant(s) before you can apply for accommodation on the long term leasing scheme. Find out more about applying for housing and becoming a qualified applicant.

Benefits of a Long Term Lease

  • Provides you with long-term housing security
  • Rent is paid directly to Meath Council rather than the Landlord and can be facilitated by standing order or budget deduction from a social welfare payment.
  • Rents are calculated on the same basis as tenants of Meath County Council.
