Meath Climate Action Month Healthy Oceans Art Competition
Enter from 19th September to 18th October 2025.
Meath County Council is inviting primary school aged children to enter the Meath Climate Action Month Art Competition.
We're inviting children to explore SDG 14: Life Below Water by submitting their artworks of a Healthy Ocean Scene.
Showcase the beauty of marine life, from coral reefs to sea creatures. Help raise awareness about protecting our oceans for future generations and use your artistic talents to inspire change.
So, grab your pencils, paints and crayons, and create a masterpiece that encourages others to protect our blue planet!
The winning entrants will receive a Book Voucher and a collection of books for their school classroom.
Selected works will also be featured on the Meath County Council Website and Social Media pages.
How to Enter
- Entries should be 2D (on paper only).
- Please include the following information on the back of your entry: Name, Age, Parent/Guardian’s Name, Contact Phone Number and School Name.
- Drop your artwork into your local library from Monday 19th September to Saturday, 18th October.

- Oceans, rivers and lakes are sources of food, air, transport and medicine for people
- Oceans, rivers and lakes regulate the climate of the earth
- Pollution and taking too many fish from oceans, rivers and lakes threatens the health of people and animals
- Preventing pollution and climate change can help to preserve life below water
- People can also adopt fishing practices that help to preserve fish stocks
- There are human rights related to life below water, for example:
- Right to health
- Rights to adequate food and to safe drinking water
- Right of all peoples to freely dispose of their natural resources
