From 4.00 pm on Sunday, January 28th, changes will be made to the management of traffic on Bridge Street, Ludlow Street, and Market Square as part of the Navan Town Scheme, Navan 2030.

Bridge Street / Ludlow Street

Traffic will be reversed on Bridge Street / Ludlow Street:

  • From Church Hill - left turn only onto Ludlow Street and no right turn onto Bridge Street

  • Entry to Bridge Street only via Academy Street and a left turn from Circular Road

Market Square

  • At Market Square (South) (Leon’s Café), the traffic flow will be reversed and will be used only by buses, taxis, and bicycles travelling from Ludlow Street. All traffic can continue to Watergate Street from Ludlow Street - see below - Note this is a view from Ludlow Street.

  • From Timmons Hill, at Market Square junction, the traffic will be right turn only (towards Watergate Street).

Traffic will be two-way on Market Square from the Kennedy Road/Trimgate Street junction (at the Central) to the ‘Bull’ sculpture at Market Square.

Meath County Council aims to enhance connectivity between regional and inter-urban bus services and the town's local bus services and taxis and to improve accessibility for bus users, resulting in more people being brought into the heart of Navan to work, visit, or for shopping.

The focus of the traffic changes is to achieve the re-direction of bus services into the centre of Navan to the new bus interchange located on Kennedy Road.

Bus Services

Initially the 109, 190 and NX bus services will be relocated from Abbey Road bus stops to the new bus stops on Kennedy Road after 11.59pm on Sunday 28th of January. The 109A and 109X are to remain on the Dublin Road until further notice.
