Notice of Temporary Traffic Management – Bakery Lane, Navan
Navan 2030 Public Realm Works - Contract 5
Commencing on Monday, 11th August 2025
Meath County Council wishes to notify the public of upcoming pedestrian route access changes on Bakery Lane, Navan, to facilitate works associated with the Navan Town Scheme (Navan 2030).
The works are to include new paving, utility upgrade works, public lighting and landscaping to enhance the public realm.
These important upgrade works will be carried out in three phases, with temporary pedestrian diversions in place. Please refer to below summary and maps 1, 2 & 3 for details of pedestrian diversion routes.
Phased Works Schedule:
Phase 1 (CH0.00 – 28.00m)
- Duration (anticipated): 2 weeks
- Start Date: Monday, 11th August 2025
- Pedestrian Access: Closed (via Trimgate Street)
- Diversion Route: Pedestrians will be diverted via the grounds of St. Mary’s Parish, Navan (see Map 1).

Map 1 – Phase 1 Works Bakery Lane
Phase 2 (CH28.00 – 55.00m)
- Duration (anticipated): 4 weeks commencing on Monday, 25th August 2025
- Pedestrian access facilitated

Map 2 – Phase 2 Works Bakery Lane
Phase 3 (CH55.00 – 120.00m)
- Duration (anticipated): 4 weeks commencing Monday, 22nd September 2025
- Pedestrian Access: Closed for the first 4 weeks (via Fairgreen)
- Diversion Route: Pedestrians will be diverted via the grounds of St. Mary’s Parish, Navan (see Map 3).

Please note that this temporary pedestrian management system will be kept under review, and alterations/improvements may be implemented where required.
