Meath County Council and Meath Women Caucus have partnered with Women for Election to bring a comprehensive in-person and online training programme to women in Meath, Westmeath, Louth, Cavan, and Monaghan throughout the month of February.  

The initiative aims to empower women in the region to take up leadership roles in their communities, fostering inclusivity and diversity in local governance.  

Women residing in Meath and its surrounding counties, local community leaders and activists, and representatives from community organisations are invited to register for free for one or all of the training events by visiting www.womenforelection.ie/meath.  

The first of the online training events, ‘Why Local Politics Matters,’ takes place on Thursday, February 8. The next online event, ‘Maximising Social Media for Local Politicians,’ takes place on Thursday, February 15, with the final online event, ‘Canvassing Strategies and Door-to-Door Dynamics, taking place on Thursday, February 22.  Each online event commences at 7.15pm and concludes just over one hour later at 8.30pm.  

The final event will take place in person and will be an afternoon session, beginning at 1.30pm, and will delve into ‘Maps, Targets and Votes’ and ‘Making the Most of your Local Media.’ This event will take place in Buvinda House, Navan, on Saturday, March 2.
