Paddy O’Brien Street Temporary Traffic Management Changes

Meath County Council wishes to advise that it will be commencing upgrade works to the existing bus stop on Paddy O’Brien Street in Navan and constructing a new bus stop on the opposite side of the road and ancillary works. This work is to commence on Monday September 15th, and temporary traffic management changes are to be implemented.

As part of the temporary traffic and pedestrian management measures required to facilitate the construction work, vehicles entering Paddy O’Brien Street from Kennedy Road will be diverted via Kennedy Road and Abbey Road or alternatively via Market Square to Watergate Street and Abbey Road to access Paddy O’Brien Street. Traffic signage will be erected, and access for deliveries and to businesses is to be maintained throughout.

The planned temporary traffic management measures will commence on Monday 15th of September until Friday 14th of November. Please see the directional map below. This temporary traffic management system will be kept under review, and alterations/improvements may be implemented where required.

This work, once completed, will further enhance connectivity between the regional and inter-urban bus services and the town's local bus services (NV1 and NV2) in an effort to further enhance accessibility for bus users, resulting in more people being brought into the heart of Navan to work, visit, or for shopping. The bus stops will improve public transport access in an effort to make active travel and public transport more attractive choices that are accessible to all, delivering wider health and environmental benefits, and to create a much more vibrant and sustainable town centre.

Meath County Council apologises in advance for any inconvenience caused, and wishes to thank those affected for their patience and forbearance while these important works are being implemented.
