Polling Schemes

A polling Scheme divides the county into Electoral Areas, Electoral Divisions, Polling Districts and Townlands for the purposes of Dáil elections and local elections and appoints a polling place for each polling district.

The making of a Polling Scheme is a reserved function of the Council and schemes must be updated at least every 10 years or in the event of any electoral boundary changes.

The current Polling Scheme for Meath which came into effect in February 2016 can be downloaded and viewed below.

The Polling Scheme can be viewed during normal office hours at the office of

  • Meath County Council, Buvinda House, Dublin Road, Navan, Co. Meath, C15Y291.

Copies can be purchased for a fee of €10.
