The funding will upgrade the existing sections of the riverwalk and deliver the missing 350m section of riverwalk at the rear of the Village Green development. Works will include new surfacing , drainage, improved access points and new public lighting, as well as the provision of rest areas along the route. The completed works will upgrade the full 1km riverwalk in the heart of Ratoath. Works are due to commence on site in summer 2026.

Meath county Council have secured funding through the Outdoor Recreational Infrastructure Scheme to upgrade the Broadmeadow Riverwalk in Ratoath.
