Minister Patrick O’Donovan and Minister Charlie McConalogue announce investment

Meath County Council and Meath Local Sports Partnership are excited to announce a refresh of their sports funding programme for 2026, inviting Expressions of Interest (EOI) from all eligible sporting national governing bodies.

This is a strategic opportunity to support sports development and increase participation across the county, with a strong focus on disadvantaged communities, women (teenage girls and women), ethnic minority groups, persons with a disability, and males over 35.

This refreshed program aims to ensure maximum impact by introducing a more structured and transparent application process. An Open Call for Expressions of Interest for funding is now open for applications.

Available funding streams:

There are two new funding streams:

  • Small Grants for Programme Taster Sessions: Up to €5,000 for specific cohorts, areas, or taster programs (max 1-year duration).
  • Large Grants towards Development Officers: Up to €15,000 for part-time posts and up to €30,000 for full-time posts (up to 3-year duration).

Successful applicants will demonstrate a clear alignment with Meath County Council and Meath Local Sports Partnership objectives for the development of sports, a strong programme proposal, and proven organisational capacity.

We look forward to receiving innovative proposals that will enhance sports participation and development throughout Meath.
