Compulsory Acquisition of Land

Notice of the confirmation by An Bord Pleanála of a Compulsory Purchase Order pursuant to Section 76 of, and the Third Schedule to, the Housing Act, 1966, as extended by Section 10 of the Local Government (No. 2) Act, 1960 (as substituted by Section 86 of the Housing Act, 1966), as respects all of the land to which the Compulsory Purchase Order relates to be published in accordance with Section 78(1) of the Housing Act, 1966, as amended and extended by the Planning and Development Acts, 2000 to 2021 and the Roads Acts, 1993 to 2015.

 

An Bord Pleanála has, on the 7th day of July 2021, made a confirmation order confirming (with modifications) the abovenamed compulsory purchase order as respects the land described in Parts I & II of the Schedule thereto.

 

The said order, as so confirmed, authorises Meath County Council to acquire the said land compulsorily and will become operative at the expiration of three weeks from the date of the publication of this notice.

 

The order also authorises the Local Authority to extinguish the Public rights of Way described in Part III of the Schedule thereto, and to extinguish the Private rights of Way described in Part IV A of the Schedule thereto by order made by them after they have acquired the said land.

 

The order also authorises the Local Authority to temporarily extinguish the private fishing rights described in Part IV B of the Schedule thereto.

 

A copy of the order as so confirmed and of the maps referred to therein may be seen at below and at The offices of Meath County Council, Buvinda House, Dublin Road, Navan, Co Meath, C15 Y291 Monday to Friday (excepting Public Holidays) between the hours of 9.00am and 1.00pm and 2.00pm and 5.00pm.

 

An application for judicial review of the decision of the Board under Order 84 of the Rules of the Superior Courts (S.I. no. 15 of 1986) may be made to the High Court within eight weeks of the date of publication of this notice in accordance with section 50 of the Planning and Development Act, 2000 as amended and extended.
