Chairperson of Laytown-Bettystown Municipal District, Cllr. Elaine McGinty warmly welcomed the guests in attendance and those watching remotely who represented the 31 applicant groups who took part from Laytown Bettystown Municipal District. Cllr. McGinty acknowledged the challenging times and commended the fantastic work and achievements of the voluntary groups over the last year and beyond.
Director of Services Ms Fiona Lawless commented that she was delighted to see the return of the Pride of Place initiative this year and thanked all of the volunteers on behalf of Meath County Council for the work that is carried out in the Laytown-Bettystown District. She commended their commitment and noted that the Laytown-Bettystown District is a credit to all involved. Ms Lawless, on behalf of the Council wished the best of luck to Bettystown Tidy Towns who are representing Meath in this year’s CoOperation Ireland Pride of Place competition under the Island and Coastal Communities category.
